Learn About Jungla de Panama
what You’ll Find at jungla
At Jungla de Panama, you’ll find a spacious 10-meter-high monkey enclosure, several bird aviaries, interactive animal areas, and designated spaces for the animals to graze. As the project grew, a bar and restaurant were added, along with a hostile to accommodate volunteers, backpackers, and guests who want to stay and spend time with the animals. Unfortunately, due to the aftermath of Covid, the bar and restaurant closed, but there is a bar and convivence store within walking distance.
Junglas Foundation
Jungla de Panama was founded in 2010 when a single mother of three moved to Panama with the dream of retiring and spending more time with her three children. But after 25 years of professional animal rescue work in the United States, retirement did not last long. Dorothy, with her big heart and inability to say no to an animal in need, quickly became known in the community. Locals began bringing her injured, abandoned, abused, neglected, and handicapped wildlife- some even in need of hospice care. And so, Jungle de Panama Wildlife Rescue, Rehab, and Release was born.
