Facts About different kind of macaws facts

Female Scarlet Macaw

Female scarlet macaws, like their male counterparts, are vibrant birds with red, yellow, and blue plumage, and are not easily distinguished by appearance alone;

Scarlet macaws reach sexual maturity around 3 or 4 years of age and are slow-breeding birds. A pair of scarlet macaws in the wild builds a nest in the hollow of a dead tree. The female lays a clutch of 2 to 4 eggs and does most of the incubation. The eggs take about 25 days to hatch.

Green Wing Macaw

The green-winged macaw is one of the largest macaw species. Its large beak can be intimidating, but this macaw has a reputation for being a gentle giant.

This great beauty originates from regions of Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Guyana, Brazil, Peru, Suriname, French Guiana, Paraguay, Argentina and Bolivia, and covers approximately the same area as the blue and gold macaw.
