Jungla de Panama is a family-led wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and release center in Palmira near Boquete, Chiriquí, Panama. Jungla cares for wildlife that has been injured, abandoned, abused, neglected or left unable to survive on its own. Some recover and return to the wild. Others find a permanent home here.

Jungla is small, hands-on and personal. Visitors come to hear the animals’ stories, spend time near them and see the day-to-day work of caring for rescued wildlife.

Dorothy’s story
She came to Panama to retire. The animals changed the plan.
After 25 years of professional animal-rescue work in the United States, Dorothy moved to Panama with her three children. Then people in the community started bringing her wildlife that needed help. Jungla grew from that first need into the refuge it is today.
